How we design emails that work

1. Mobile first. Most emails are opened on a phone, so we use a single column, large text and tap-friendly buttons.
2. Readable without images. Many inboxes block images until the reader allows them, so the message still makes sense as text.
3. One main action. One primary button per email; secondary links are kept quiet.
4. Light code. Under the size at which Gmail clips a message, with live text instead of text baked into images.
5. Tested before sending. Checked in major inboxes and in dark mode, with links and tracking verified.

How to write a newsletter people open

• Send on a fixed rhythm. Monthly or fortnightly, on the same day.
• Write a specific subject line. "3 ways to cut your electricity bill this summer" beats "June newsletter".
• Lead with one useful thing. A tip, a price, a case or a short guide, before any promotion.
• Keep it short. 150 to 300 words with links to read more on your website.
• Sign it from a person. Replies go to a real inbox.
• Measure clicks, not just opens. Apple Mail and other privacy features inflate open rates.

Promotional email templates we use

A typical promotional email has a subject line under 45 characters, preview text that adds to it, a headline with the offer, one image, three short benefit lines, one button, and a footer with your address and an unsubscribe link. We write a version for each campaign, rather than reusing one email for every offer.
