Yoast SEO and Rank Math setup
- Site basics. Site name, organisation or person, logo and social profiles for the knowledge panel and schema.
- Search appearance. Title and description templates for pages, posts, products, categories and tags.
- Indexing control. Noindex for tag archives, author archives, attachment pages, search results and thin taxonomies that waste crawl budget.
- XML sitemaps. Only the content you want indexed, submitted to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
- Schema. Organization or LocalBusiness, Article, Product, FAQ, HowTo and Breadcrumb, checked in Google's Rich Results Test.
- Breadcrumbs, canonical URLs and redirects. Including a redirect plan when URLs change.
- Per-page optimisation. Focus keyword, title, meta description and internal links on your important pages.
- Plugin conflicts. Removing duplicate SEO plugins and duplicate schema from themes and page builders.
Yoast or Rank Math: which one?
Both are good. Yoast SEO is the long-established choice with a simpler interface and paid add-ons for local, video and news. Rank Math packs more into its free version, such as more schema types, redirections and 404 monitoring. If your site already uses one and it is configured well, switching rarely helps rankings. We can move settings and metadata from one to the other when there is a reason to.

- Speed and Core Web Vitals. Heavy themes, page builders, render-blocking scripts and large images.
- Permalinks and URL structure. Dates in URLs, category bases and duplicate paths.
- Thin and duplicate content. Tag pages, paginated archives and near-identical service pages.

Both work well. Yoast is simpler and long established; Rank Math offers more features free, such as extra schema types and redirections. Correct configuration matters far more than which one you pick.
Does installing Yoast SEO make my site rank?
